The idea of Impact Certificates is really powerful. If ImpactDAO can issue highly legitimate Impact certificates, then we can have verifiable on-chain resources to verify who made the impact.
Here are some hypothetical examples:
An Impact certificate for removing 40k tons of carbon from the atmosphere, signed by Gitcoin Governance
A poverty impact certificate with 15,000 citizens removed, signed by California DAO
If someone reads an Impact certificate and claims that X impact was made, then if there is evidence from a knowledgeable, trusted, and neutral source (such as Gitcoin governance), we can reasonably believe that the claim is physically legitimate.
If we can increase the pressure to purchase Impact certificates, this idea will become very powerful. We can imagine a world where wealthy philanthropists in crypto buy Impact certificate NFTs and showcase how much they supported their favorite charities or public goods.
